What is F/3?

Photography is a form of visual communication that anyone can participate in and yet very few ever master. A lifelong journey that most people begin before they ever pick up a camera and release a shutter, pictures saturate our psyche through books, magazines, television, advertising, the Internet and from childhood we develop a very deep and personal sense of what makes a “good” photograph.

The Fargo Foto Fest is as much a celebration of photographers as it is a celebration of photography for the midwest. Mostly though, it is a chance for anyone and everyone with a passion for photography to share their work with our community - a chance to be moved and inspired and to step out from behind the lens for a moment and connect with those who share that passion.

Our goal is to educate and inspire one another while catching a glimpse of some of the amazing pictures being made every day right in our own backyard.

The purpose of this site is to gauge interest and serve as the communication hub as we build this event. Anyone interested in this event may sign up for full access to the site. Welcome!

Hello out there ??

I am a quite new member here. James Christie invited me to join. And I've enjoyed posting photos here.

It seem there is a lot of talent from what I see. But it seems there's little use of such a fine means to show our art. Is it just me, or is this site under-used considering all it has to offer us? I would love to hear from other users here to get ideas, input, and get aquainted with other photographers. Any ideas or suggestions as to going about that ?? I have to say thanks for the chance… Continue

Beer!

For those interested in F/3 meetings.. note that we have a tapped coors light that we can share for the time being. We might recommend byob after the first few pitchers but after we can order a keg of any beer. Sam Adams maybe! We also have a ton of fountain coke and sprite for those who are not interested in alcohol. I need feedback!

Ideas, Opinions... and Profile Pics!

How many are interested in the making of F/3 gatherings. I would assume that for the majority of us, alcohol being present for such meetings are preferred. Legacy Photography studio on 118 N Broadway is a great location to get together with all the availability to accompany food and refreshments. It's also a great location for those who wish to hit up the downtown scene afterwards so we could find a weekday that is good for all. It could be once a month or more with speakers or just social… Continue

Legacy Photography Open In Downtown Fargo

If you get a chance, stop by and visit Tyson's new studio, Legacy Photography in downtown Fargo. They're in the Black Building right off the food court. I had the opportunity to attend the open house last night and the space is great, the food was great, and the booze was flowing.

Congratulations Tyson!
